Why is customer feedback so important for PCB assembly?

China PCB Assembly Service Manufacturers

There are many ways to make the prototype PCB assembly business unique. A process of redesign depends on the relationship between heavy industry and technological innovation. In addition, the common obstacles faced by PCB assembly manufacturers are mostly unheard of by other companies. These components are combined to ensure consistency in PCB prototype projects through customer feedback.

PCB assembly collusion manufacturing

Assembling printed circuit boards is one of the most collaborative projects that individuals or businesses can participate in, as seen from a high-level bird’s-eye view of the industry.

Please consider the following workflow:

  • Someone proposed an innovative technical proposal, obtained funding, and became an entrepreneur
  • This entrepreneur hired a professional engineering team to design products.
  • The design documents (including at least one dedicated to PCB manufacturing) are being shipped to the prototype manufacturing industry.
  • The PCB manufacturer has set up the PCB prototype according to the required design and shipped it out.
  • The engineering team received the goods, generated a PCB prototype, and presented it to the entrepreneur.
  • Entrepreneurs showcase PCB prototypes to stakeholders and customers, and if there is enough interest, start mass production.

Especially, there are information interruptions in two important places. Essentially, entrepreneurs are isolated from PCB assembly teams, while PCB assembly teams are isolated from stakeholders and customers.

This means that without a cautious strategy for disseminating information between assembly, mass production, and design, critical information can easily be lost in restatement.

For the PCB assembly industry, producing circuit boards for customers is not difficult, and one may not even know the purpose of the circuit board.

The essence of feedback in making better boards

If we follow the example above, there will be clear communication between all parties. Communication helps to obtain feedback, which is a way to understand how feedback can help products become better, faster, and cheaper.

Firstly, the PCB assembly industry – without demand – has a broad understanding of engineering and product design. Both established companies and entrepreneurs rely on PCB prototype manufacturers to introduce product design issues before mass production. The obvious result of doing so is that the problem can be effectively resolved before posing a risk to the company’s reputation.

Secondly, revise the engineering technology based on the target market. If the circuit board is designed specifically for military grade encryption, then the next generation of fighter jets must adopt a completely different assembly method from the one designed for economical smartphones. Keeping PCB assemblers informed provides manufacturers with the opportunity to modernize their processes or improve specifications to meet customer needs.

Thirdly, the information after shipment helps assemblers determine the long-term effectiveness of their workflow and design choices. If the manufacturer orders a set of circuit boards and no longer communicates with the prototype assembly team, then the production efficiency of printed circuit boards cannot be determined.
